This song is about someone Darwin Deez strongly dislikes, there is no known reason why this is in the lyrics and it the lyrics dont really appear to have any deeper meaning. It is purely a song about all the bad things he would like to happen to this person, But also by saying "Im sorry if it ever is" means that this person was perhaps a good friend once. I chose this song mainly becuase of the fact that the lyrics are easy to match to imagery and action.

While storyboarding I liked the idea of having the lyrics and imagery represented through clothes, for example T shirts with writing or pictures drawn or sewn on. I rememebered seeing this music video and it is a good example of the ideas I have for my own work, The effect of this video is green screen, however I plan to use a stop motion style.

Darwin Deez- Bad day

Darwin Deez won by popular vote on Facebook.com and I chose the song Bad day as its lyrics were simpler to interpret and create relavant imagery to.

This is a fan made video for the song is it does not have an official music video yet, It shows how the lyrics can match with imigary simply and still be effective and creative. However i am going to take a few ideas from this video for example the way text is used to match the lyrics, I plan to use T-shirts or boards. I also like the way the imagery of a calendar is used.

This is another fan made video for Darwin Deez's song Lights On. I really like the use of stop motion in this video and may try it out on my own promo video.

Decided a change

Due to some personal reasons and loss of actors I can no longer go through with the Music promo for Bon Iver's Skinny Love, I am currently beginning new planning for a new song and storyboard, keeping the Indie genre but picking a more upbeat song for example Darwin Deez- Radar detector, of which i analysed earlier in my research, is in my new List of songs currently posted on Facebook.com for voting!

Adaption of Idea

When looking at my final storyboard I realized I had overlooked how I would actually film the scenes, it turned out that it would be quite difficult so I decided to change my idea's slightly. I decided Shadow puppets would be an interesting way to show the narrative in my video rather than actors. I remembered seeing Laura Marling's video for My Manic and I and the way that it switched between these animated mini theatre characters and the real people, I really like this idea I think it will be a more creative way to show the narrative in a blend of fantasy and reality.

This is a first draft of my storyboard giving a rough idea of the narrative, some changes will be made as I am replacing my characters with shadow puppets in some scenes.
