Research- Album art/Digipaks

I am looking at album cover art and digipacks as part of a package to go with my Music Promo Video, along with a Poster Design.

Darwin Deez- Self titled album. Simple photo of artist, small amount of editing, small type in top corner. I like this cover however I would like to make my own product stand out a little more, bolder writing, and have it look more artistic/creative by using an image or drawing rather than a photograph of an artist.

Penny Sparkle- I found these images on a website called FFFFOUND.com. It is an official artists album digipak. I really like the way its been designed, I like the handwriting and the way the text curves around, it is different to most digipak designs that would have a artist photo and plain straight typed text on the back and more like the design I am aiming for with my own product. I also like the way that the casing is not plastic, it is made of card, this is something that alot of artists are beggining to do now not only for the style but also supporting recycling. I like the way it looks homemade, it is more creative and fits into the Folk coventions of simplicity.

Stop Motion Sequence- Practice Run

I plan to use small stop motion sequences for some parts of my video, this is my practice run, I can see by looking at this how to improve the quality and change the method of how It was created so it runs smoothly.

Apparel clip.

This is a clip i made of the T-shirts and how my chorus may look using still images.

Darwin Deez- Bad day Lyrics, Song Meaning and Annotation

I hope that the last the page of your 800-page novel is missing
- Here I will have pages being turned with text to introduce the song, artist and producer (me) followed by a ripped out "800th" page at the end.
And I hope that it rains if you leave the window down on your red Mustang
- This will be a small toy car being dropped in a tank of water or i will use a watering can over the car to give the image of "rain" from the other side of a window.

'Cause everyday ought to be a bad day for you- T shirts used on different people in time with the lyrics.

And if you drop your keys I hope there's a sewer somewhere very nearby
- Oversized keys dropped on street, kicked away towards a drain.
I hope that your team lost, I hope your new girl takes off with a new guy.- Lego men in a line being flicked away, Girl toy and boy toy stop motioned for girl to walk off to a new toy.

'Cause everyday ought to be a bad day for you
- T shirts in time with lyrics.

And I would like to be your girlfriend so I could dump you
- Two people with heart t shirts, boys heart splits in two, girl walks away.
And I would like to be your garbage man so I would never have to pick up your trash again
- Recycle sign t shirt, tipping garbage can over floor.
Maybe you should wonder why your apartment is always so empty
- Point of view shot running through an empty house.
Well I hope you get locked out of that apartment and have to call Jenny
- Someone locked out, Sad face shirt, oversized phone, girl with GUT t shirt slams phone down.

Ohhh!
- OH t shirt, point and laugh.

'Cause everyday ought to be a bad day for you
- T shirts in time to lyrics

But I'm sorry if it ever is
- Calender flicking through months with sad faces on everyday.

This song is about someone Darwin Deez strongly dislikes, there is no known reason why this is in the lyrics and it the lyrics dont really appear to have any deeper meaning. It is purely a song about all the bad things he would like to happen to this person, But also by saying "Im sorry if it ever is" means that this person was perhaps a good friend once. I chose this song mainly becuase of the fact that the lyrics are easy to match to imagery and action.
